ADULT ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM
ADULT ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM
Adults with limited or no command of the English language will learn and/or improve their English language communication skills. Instruction is offered in pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, American culture, community living skills and work force readiness skills. Students will be assigned to classes based on interview and test results.
Adult ESL registration for the current year is now closed. However, registration will open in July of 2025 for classes that will start in September of 2025. Please note that registration does not confirm placement in the program. All registrations will be completed online. Our classes will be in-person with some virtual instruction days. Classes will begin in September of 2025.
Placement testing will take place in August of 2025 at East Brunswick High School (380 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick). All testing must be done in-person and only those testing will be permitted to enter the building (no children/family members will be permitted). Classes meet Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s from 6-8:30pm and will be a combination of In-Person and virtual learning. Once on-line registration is complete, you will receive an email with all testing information including the date and time that has been reserved for you. Upon completion of testing you will be placed in a class and provided all of the information about the program.
All classes are free but excellent attendance is required to stay in the program. All students must have their own device to participate in the online portion of the program. These devices can include a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Assistance can be provided for anyone without a device. Our program is open to East Brunswick Residents as well as surrounding towns. For program information, please call 732-613-6989 or email commprog@ebnet.org.
