ESL
ADULT ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM
Adults with limited or no command of the English language will learn and/or improve their English language communication skills. Instruction is offered in pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, American culture, community living skills and work force readiness skills. Students will be assigned to classes based on interview and test results.
REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026/2027 ADULT ESL, CITIZENSHIP AND HSE CLASSES IS NOW OPEN
Registration is now open for Adult ESL, Citizenship and HSE Classes that will start in September. Please note that registration does not confirm placement in the program. All registrations will be completed online. There will be no in-person registration. Our classes will be in-person with some virtual instruction days.
Once registration is completed, testing information will be sent to you. Testing will take place at East Brunswick High School (380 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick). All testing must be done in-person and only those testing will be permitted to enter the testing site. Once testing has been completed, all tests will be assessed and placements will be made. You will receive an email to confirm you have been placed in a class and provide you with a schedule. All classes are free but excellent attendance is required to stay in the program. All students must have their own device to participate in the online portion of the program. These devices can include a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. We can assist with providing one if needed. Classes will begin in September and will run through May. Our program is open to East Brunswick Residents as well as surrounding towns.
