AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM

While improving their English language skills, foreign-born adults who seek United States citizenship will prepare for naturalization.  Instruction is offered in American history, civics, and American culture.  Classroom activities will include practice for the oral exam, writing requirements and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services interview.  Information will be provided about the citizenship process and government forms.  Students are selected for this program based on interview and test results.  This grant-funded program will run from September through May and there is no cost for this program.

Registration is currently closed for this school year, but will open again in July of 2025.   Classes will start in September of 2025 and will be held Monday’s and Wedensday’s from 10am-12:30pm or 12:30-3:00pm, or 1-2 evenings per week from 6-8:30pm.  Placement testing will be in August of 2025 at East Brunswick High School (380 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick). All testing must be done in-person and only those testing will be permitted to enter the building (no children/family members will be permitted).  Once on-line registration is complete, you will receive an email with all of your testing information including the date and time that has been reserved for you.  Upon completion of testing you will be placed in a class and provided all of the information about the program.
