Adult School/ESL/HSE

Adult and Community Education programs provide a wide variety of educational opportunities for adults, including high school students. The Adult School is offered under the auspices of the Middlesex County Adult Education Consortium. Programs available include: evening High School Equivalency (HSE) Prep, evening English as a Second Language (ESL), as well as daytime and evening Citizenship classes. The Adult Basic Skills Program is funded by State and Federal grants through the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and is provided as a community service by the East Brunswick Board of Education.
2025/2026 ADULT SCHOOL REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR
REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026/2027 ADULT ESL, CITIZENSHIP AND HSE CLASSES WILL OPEN JULY 2026
Registration will open in July of 2026 for Adult ESL, Citizenship and HSE Classes that will start in September. Please note that registration does not confirm placement in the program. All registrations will be completed online. There will be no in-person registration. Our classes will be in-person with the possibility of some virtual instruction days.
Once registration is completed, testing information will be sent to you. Testing will take place at East Brunswick High School (380 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick). All testing must be done in-person and only those testing will be permitted to enter the testing site. Once testing has been completed, all tests will be assessed and placements will be made. You will receive an email to confirm you have been placed in a class and provide you with a schedule. All classes are free but excellent attendance is required to stay in the program. All students must have their own device to participate in the online portion of the program. These devices can include a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Classes will begin in September and will run through May. Our program is open to East Brunswick Residents as well as surrounding towns.
